Date: 1920s

This rare turqoise-ombré coloured large Art Deco flapper fan (typically these fans have sticks of uneven numbers e.g. 3, 5, 7, 9,etc., as opposed to the much wider Victorian and Edwardian Ostrich feather fans) is made of honey-orange coloured celluloid sticks and very large Ostrich feathers. The feathers are a bright turquoise green colour that gradually fades from a darker shade into a lighter shade of turquoise (ombré style).

Such flapper fans were depicted by the famous illustrator George Barbier in fashion plate entitled "Eventails" in 1924 (see last photo).
