Origin: France

Date: 1810-1825

This lovely brisé fan is made of (light yellow) blonde horn sticks that are connected via a turquoise coloured silk ribbon (properly replaced - the original torn ribbon was also turquoise in colour). The sticks are densely carved and pierced with flowers and foliage. The rivet has a turquoise attached to either side. The carrying loop, which I believe to be made of gold (however, I have not tested it, but am pretty positive that it is gold or at the very least gilded) is a later (Victorian) addition.

Length: 6.25" (15.5 cm) Width: 11.75" (30 cm)
