Origin: France 

Date: 1870-1880

This brisé fan was retailed at Buissot, Paris. The fan is made of highly polished genuine tortoiseshell sticks that are connected via a brown pure silk ribbon (properly replaced).The fan still has its original matching brown silk tassel attached to it and comes in its original silk covered box which bears the Buissot label on the inside and the monogram MC on the outside of the lid. The underside of the box has the name Lauderbach in black ink written on it.

Length: 7.5" (19 cm) Width: 13.25" (33.5 cm)

Condition: Fan - Excellent, with a tiny natural flaw in one blade and two faint scratches on the inside of the right guard where the ribbon is attached (see photos). Box: Good, with age-appropriate wear on the silk and age stains on the outside of the lid (see photos).
