Mixed Brussels Lace on Mother of Pearl Sticks

Origin: France (Sticks) and Belgium (Leaf)

Date: ca. 1895-1905

This lovely turn-of-the-century fan is made of multi-coloured (goldfish) pierced and carved mother-of-pearl sticks and a single white handmade mixed Belgian (Duchesse bobbin (probbaly made in Brugge) and Point de Gaze needle lace) leaf. The sticks are silvered and gilded and show small flowers and scrolls. The leaf is worked with flowers and foliage.

Length: 9.75" (24.5 cm) Width: 18.5" (47 cm)

The fan comes in its original powder pink silk satin lined cardboard box.

Condition: Excellent, with the exception of a couple of light orange stains on the top right side (see photos).
