Origin: France & Belgium

Date: ca. 1905-1910

This beautiful fan is made of irridescent mother-of-pearl sticks and a single white/ivory coloured Brussels Duchesse bobbin lace leaf. The leaf is worked with flowers and foliage.

Length: 9" (23 cm) Width: 17" (43.5 cm)

The fan comes in a dark green satin covered cardboard box. The box is labeled "THE GORHAM CO., FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK." The Gorham Manufacturing Company are chiefly known for their silverware (particularly flatware). The Fifth Avenue store opened in 1905, so the box is contemporary with the fan, but I am unsure if Gorham also retailed fans.

Condition: Excellent, with a small faint redish pink smudge on the leaf edge (see photos).
