Origin: France (sticks) and England (Buckinghamshire) (leaf)

Date: ca. 1900-1910

This beautiful fan is made of irridescent mother-of-pearl sticks and a single handmade white Bucks Point bobbin lace leaf. The leaf is worked with floral and ribbon motives.

Length: 9" (23.5 cm) Width: 17.25" (44 cm)

The fan comes in its original cardboard box labelled with the original retailers label inside the lid: Hayward's, Oxford Street, London. Messrs. Haywards were important lace importers in their time and already had a large antique lace collection by 1908.

Condition: Excellent, with one area where the raised folds show a very faint orange stain (best visible when the fan is closed (see photos).
