Origin: Spain or France (for the Spanish Market)

Date: ca. 1850-60

This large fan is made of heavy carved and pierced mother-of pearl sticks and a double paper leaf. The sticks have two-toned gilded foil and silver foil attached. The front leaf shows a handcoloured engraving of a Fête champêtre. The reverse is handpainted with a naïve landscape.

Length: 10.5" (27 cm) Width: 20" (51 cm)

Condition: Very good, with two repaired sticks (the first two on the right (near the rivet) and both upper guardsticks have a repair (not very obvious) (see photos).
