A Glorious Large Antique Victorian Era Jet Beaded Skirt Panel dating to between 1885-1905
I think this excellent beaded panel was taken from the skirt of an evening gown. I can still see remnants of threads along the edge where it must have been attached to the skirt. The panel is essentially black embroidered net covered with tiny black jet beads. The design is floral in nature. In my opinion, this dates to the 1890s – Belle Epoque. The panel measures 36″ (cm) x 41″ (cm). It is very heavy (ca. 630g).
The panel is fabulous, but has a few small issues. One coin size hole needs backing with black net and I found a handful of very small pin holes (see photos). There are also a few loose threads and one of the leaves on the far left side needs to be filled with beads again. I picked up any spare beads I could find and will send them along with the panel.
