Belgian Lace Mother of Pearl Fan

Date: ca. 1895-1905

This beautiful fan is certainly fit for a wedding. It is made of beautiful mother of pearl sticks and a handmade Belgian (Brussels) Duchesse bobbin lace leaf with 2 point-de-gauze needle lace 3D roses. The leaf is off-white / ivory coloured and worked with various flowers, foliage and scrolls. The sticks are shimmering green and pink –  they are absolutely stunning! The loop still has its original matching silk tassel attached.
This fan comes in its original cardboard box labeled “FABRIQUE D’EVENTAILS de NATHALIE, 187A Sloane Street, London”. Madame Leah Nathalie was a well-known London fanmaker.

Condition: Excellent, crisp, clean and usable condition. The box is a little battered on the outside, but still solid and sturdy.
