Lovely late Victorian fan made of pink and green dyed (Goldfish) mother of pearl sticks and a double pink silk leaf hand painted with young lovers. This fan comes in a cardboard box.

This beautiful fan was probably a gift for a young lady who was about to enter society. It is made of beautiful, silvered and gilded goldfish pink and green mother of pearl sticks and a double silk leaf. The sticks show flowers and foliage. The leaf is hand painted with a central scene of young lovers dressed in late 18th century costume surrounded by flowers, ribbons and scrolls. Two smaller paintings on either side show castles in idyllic landscapes. The leaf is also adorned with sequins and spangles.
This fan comes in a Frederick Penberthy cardboard box, which is not the original box, but is a good fit and colour match).

Condition: Very good condition with discreet repairs to three central folds (see photos). The box (not original with the fan, but a good fit and colour match) is in excellent in condition.
