This large and striking 19th century fan is made of carved and pierced bone sticks and a handmade Brussels mixed bobbin appliqué-on-net and needle lace leaf mounted on pink coloured silk (the silk is a modern replacement of a possibly champagne coloured backing silk leaf). The lace is worked with sprays of flowers, arranged in and around geometrical shapes. The loop has a large silk tassel attached.

Length: 10.5″ (27cm) Width: 20″ (50.5 cm)
