This Jane Austen Era brise fan is made of carved and pierced ivory sticks. The upper part of the fan shows vine and grape motives.
This small type of brise fan was referred to as an “imperceptible” in the early 19th century, because it could be easily concealed within a pocket or reticule.
Length: 6.75″ (17 cm) Width: 12.5″ (31.5 cm)

Condition: Very good. Ribbon properly replaced at some point in the more recent past.
