This large, classic Cantonese 1000 faces export fan is made of black and gold lacquered sticks and double paper leaf. The front and back of the fan are handpainted with court scenes and have applied silk clothes and painted faces. The colours are still very vivid. The fan still retains its original tassel. The fan comes in a lacquer box with a painted silk interior lid panel showing two golden pheasants, flowers and fruit.

Condition: Excellent, usable condition with a small professional restoration on an abrasion on the top left corner (see last photo). The box is in sturdy condition, but has wear around its outer edges and is missing its interior cardboard fitting.
