Rare Maltese Lace Mother of Pearl Fan

Origin: Malta and France

Date: ca. 1895-1905

This rare fan is certainly fit for a wedding. It is made of beautiful mother of pearl sticks and a handmade Maltese bobbin lace leaf. The colour of the leaf is its natural cream/ivory silk colour. It is very densely worked with various flowers, foliage, scrolls and, of course, a row of Maltese crosses along to the upper edge.
This fan comes in its original, silk satin lined cardboard box.

Condition: Excellent, crisp, clean (only ever so slight shadows on some outer folds) and usable condition. The box is also excellent.
