Description

Notice the black woollen tab on the inside of the waist which is entirely original and was used to hang the skirt, when it was not worn – such woollen tabs can still be sometimes found on mid 19th century dresses and skirts. 3 black metal snaps were added to the skirt opening at some point in modern times. These ought to be removed. The skirt closes with its original hooks and eyes (the side opening did not need and never had a closure – the closure is on the waistband only, as was normal at the time).

Please note the two tiny tears above the hem, slight wear on the woollen dustband and stains on the lining and on the internal pocket (not visible on the outside/silk)(see last photos).

Shipping cost is included in the price.
